What you can do with a pattern you received, and what designers decide.
Three usage scopes
Designers choose a usage scope for each pattern. You'll find it under usage terms on the pattern page.
- Personal use only
- Finished pieces are for your own use or gifts.
- Small-batch sales OK
- With credit to the designer, you may sell finished pieces in small batches (e.g. handmade markets).
- Commercial use OK
- You may sell finished pieces and use them commercially. The pattern itself may not be redistributed.
Never allowed
- Redistributing or sharing the pattern file or its contents
- Re-listing a received pattern under your own name
- Copying or translating someone else's pattern and sharing it
Refunds and terms
Free patterns involve no payment, so withdrawal rights don't apply. For details, see the Atelier terms and the Cancellation & refund policy.
