How to find a pattern you like and get it for free.
Finding patterns
- Home: New patterns, top rankings, and featured designers at a glance.
- Categories: Browse by what you want to make, like tops, hats, or bags.
- Search: Find patterns by name, designer, or tag.
- Free tab: The most-saved free patterns.
Reading a pattern page
A pattern page shows photos, a description, difficulty, the yarn and needles used, gauge, and the usage terms.
Like a pattern? Tap the heart to save it. Saved patterns collect in the Saved tab.
Getting a pattern for free

Log in
You need a Patterners account to get patterns. If you're logged out, the button reads “Log in to get it free”.

Tap “Get it free”
When you see “Saved to Received.”, you're done.

Open it right away
The button changes to “Open in Received”. You can also open it from the Received tab.
Before you get a pattern
- Each pattern has its own usage scope. Check Licenses and rules.
- Pattern files may not be redistributed or shared with others.
